Our story:

From Moving Boxes to a Salsa Salvation

I thought moving to California from Oklahoma would be a fun and exciting adventure, little did I know that my Mom would be the one setting out on a journey of her own. I'm sharing this picture with you because the story of DreamCatcher Farm Gourmet salsa all started here.

Mamma Dee sold her Mercedes, bought a Harley and set out to criss-cross the country on her new wheels. Needless to say, I TOTALLY freaked out and did NOT approve of this dangerous venture. But living 1,200 miles away I had no way to stop her - talk about a role reversal!

And if the motorcycle didn't add enough spice to her life, it was during this experimental (rebellious) phase that she decided to add more flavor. Experimenting with new recipes and not satisfied with store bought salsa, it was time to make a salsa the way SHE wanted it to taste - fresh, not canned. As usual with anything Mamma Dee creates, the salsa was a huge hit. She'd showcase her new recipe at parties and her friends ate it up. To her delight, she started to receive requests for more than a few batches of her new creation.

A red hot recipe

Being the generous gal that she is, Mamma Dee gladly started making salsa for her friends. However soon after, she realized it was getting pretty expensive and she was spending a lot of her free time making salsa. Word had spread, friends had shared with friends and in next to no time demand was through the roof.  Believe me, once you've tasted it, you'll know why.

As much as Mamma Dee loves her friends, she needed to start charging them for salsa or she was going to go broke. She was going to have to scale back her operation to a seasonal project or only make it to give as a gift to friends for special occasions. Fresh ingredients and our secret combination of spices do not come cheap you know.

I don't want to boast, but many people said the same thing, time and time again, and the thought slowly crept in - maybe they have a point here.

Once again, Mamma Dee is ready to set off on a new adventure. Looking to trade in the four walls of an office, for a new kitchen filled with fresh onions, tomatoes, red and green chile peppers, jalapenos and habeneros. She's had several years to perfect this recipe and since she's past her "mid-life crisis years" (kidding Mom!), we've decided it's time to share her salsa with the world. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
